Backlinking Basics!

When getting links to your site you need to mix it up a bit. Most people get all their backlinks to point to their main page using a single anchor text link or keyphrase such as: internet marketing tips

So, all the backlinks you get that are pointing back to your site would use the anchor text “internet marketing tips”.

This is a BIG no no…

This is a common mistake most people make as they think that is what it takes to get their site to the top 10. There are a couple of things you MUST do if you want to get even better results and dominate the top 10 search results.

>> Tip #1: Don’t point all the backlinks you get to your homepage *only*. You need to *deep* link to your secondary pages as well.

For example, if your website contains the following
pages…

index.html
internet-marketing-tips.html
internet-marketing-videos.html
sales-conversions.html

… you must get backlinks to all of those pages.

>> Tip #2: You should not use the same keyphrase on all four of the pages above using only *one* keyphrase such as “internet marketing tips” mentioned above is another big mistake people make.

Let me give you a couple examples of how you should do this:

index.html
==> anchor text link: internet marketing, internet marketing strategies, internet marketing courses

internet-marketing-videos.html
==> anchor text link: internet marketing videoes, internet marketing video tips

… anyway, you get the idea. Don’t be afraid to mix it up, add different keyphrases to different pages of your site.

Deep linking is a method not to many people use and can make the difference between your website being in the top 10 within Google or top 100.

Just make sure that you *deep* link to as many pages on your website as possible useing a variety of keyphrases when
you get links.
